Sometimes efx_mcdi_raise_exception will panic, sometimes it won't on this code
path. That means this isn't dead code, per se.
Since this driver is rather old by this point, I don't have hardware to test
and the problem it fixes is questionable at best, I'm just going to close this
because we're never going to commit it.
