This setup is just to prepare for attaching bhyve tapX devices, to get bridged
networking with bhyve. They are created and destroyed dynamically when bhyve
clients are run.

VirtualBox uses special kernel drivers to attach to an interface in bridged
mode. As far as I can see in the sources (emulators/virtualbox-ose-kmod), it
uses netgraph and bpf. Maybe one or both of these are missing from if_bridge.

Disregarding the VirtualBox setup, there is still the problem that there are
performance problems under load - issue 3. from the list at the end of my
original message.
