This happens when a gif(8) interface is a member of if_bridge(4) , and still has IPv6 address assigned and try to send traffic from this IPv6 address. That is IMO harmless, since we can distinguish IP-IPv6, IPv6-IPv6 and Ether-IPv6 via the ip proto. So I think the asserting ( "unexpectedly called with bridge attached" ) is too strong.
