Does it work good on 14.3-RELEASE or 13.5-RELEASE ?

Can you please try to create an static an ARP entry for (.7) on (.5),
```
# arp -s 172.18.1.7 70:85:c2:c1:19:11
```
and test the connection again ?

Also the ARP entry on (.7) is helpful to diagnose.

A better way to is connecting the two machines, (.5) and (.7), directly with a
crossover cable. Well a patch cable should also work, as Intel i350 ( and many
NICs ) supports auto MDI-X.
