I'm strongly against merging these changes for several reasons: 1. The network stack requires careful testing, both in terms of performance and security. This require time. 2. Changes, especially new features in the IP stack, can affect node behavior and potentially break POLA. 3. Even in the CURRENT, fixing network stack mistakes can be difficult, and regressions can arise. It's significantly harder to resolve these problems in stable or release branches. That's why we use STABLE/RELEASE branches on our servers. -- Pouria
