Hey, FWIW: I am currently using mpd5 with PPPoE without random crashes, and
restarting mpd5 is something I've done multiple times in the past several
months when trying to debug things related to my associative ISP.

I'd think if nobody shows up with the issue we can indeed happily move on :-)
