with this patch applied to the Dec 16th 14.2-STABLE kernel I got:
- 24 hours uptime on the primary router
- 26 hours uptime on the standby router

LGTM -- I wouldn't dare reboot these routers /without/ this patch. :)

without this patch there would be kernel panics at least once an hour on both
routers in the CARP pair.  no kernel panics with the patch applied. :)
