I think DRM stopped to use FreeBSD-specific code to use linuxkpi 
instead. Bjoern (CC’d) worked on these, so he may be able to share more 
details and with greater accuracy than I can.

That would be `sysctl hw.dri`. The patch takes some sysctl values from 
different APIs compared to the previous version. I wonder if some values 
are slightly different (value or format). I remember sysctls are used to 
query some device details.
