Thank-you for the heads-up.

I think the renaming of the last gold supported version should have a
separate version for those that need the functionality, and that 2.47
becomes the new binutils, as you suggest.  I know I needed the gold plugin
in the past to build lto executables, but isn't the *need* for gold
obviated by llvm's linker (with clang's lto object files)?
