I can't speak for PPC _specifically_ but I'm using:
mps0: <Avago Technologies (LSI) SAS2008> port 0xde00-0xdeff mem
0xfcdf0000-0xfcdfffff,0xfcd80000-0xfcdbffff irq 19 at device 0.0 on pci2
IOW mps(4) driver

Flashed for pass-through (pass) on FreeBSD 11/12/13 (Amd64).
