I never had a g5 ppc, but as I understand it the architecture is big endian. You need to keep this in mind. Some other ppc's are little endian. A usb stick which is loaded to boot on ppcle would likely not boot on ppc ( the naming convention seems to default to big endian). Please let us know what works for you!
