Looking at the code, I agree with mav.

While I do have access to this hardware, I have no desire to test changes w=
ith
this hardware. Every time I have, it's been a weeks long boondogle. All the
hardware that we had at work aged out of the platform years ago and the sata
implementation in isci had all kinds of hidden limitations. Better to not m=
ess
with it and maybe remove the driver from the tree (but that's a different
issue).
