Just a little more research.
I have the same issue on Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N4200 @ 1.10GHz
Setting QSG_DISTANCEFIELD_ANTIALIASING=gray solves it.
No need for QML_DISABLE_DISTANCEFIELD=1.
