I am also seeing this behavior on my T520. It is Sandy Bridge which I
believe is the same as your X200.

While the artifacts disappear after a while, I can immediately exit X (I
start X with startx, so I just logout to get back to the shell) and start
it again. No issues after restarting. I run the same
drm-fbsd12.0-kmod-4.16.g20190722_1 but I am running mesa-dri-19.0.0, a
proposed update that has not been committed and is now EOL. Looks like an
initialization issue of some sort. I have never seen this except on the
first start of X after a boot.

It's only an annoyance, but I really should open a bug report.  I am not
familiar with doing this on github where the FreeBSD X work is being done,
so I've been procrastinating.
