--- Comment #176 from Chris Hutchinson <[email protected]> ---
(In reply to Michael Gmelin from comment #174)
Thank you for your reply, Michael.

I currently have nothing but a simple mouse conf file in
X11/xorg.conf.d/. I can remove it, as it appears that I
actually obtain the mouse by starting moused.

With all conf files removed from X11/xorg.conf.d/

> setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout de

eureka!

# cat ~/.xinitrc
setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout us
startxfce4

I now have a working up arrow. You're brilliant, Michael!
Thank you!

OTOH I'm still only able to obtain a mouse by the use of
moused. I'm not too concerned about this. But as I
understand it. I should already have this, by virtue of
adding (u|e)vdev_enable="YES" to rc.conf(5). Correct?

BTW I had already used your script when I first encountered
problems. I forgot to mention it here, as I had already
mentioned it in a thread I started on the x11 | current
mailing lists. It gave me a "clean bill of health". Thanks!

Any further suggestions?

Thanks again.
