Very interesting, I have the opposite situation. Only Intel driver + DRI2 = no
tearing.

My system is ThinkPad T440p with Intel Haswell, fresh 12-STABLE, patched Mesa
19.0.8, drm-fbsd12.0-kmod-4.16. All built from sources.
