More things to check: - output of freebsd-version - is there a /home/youruser/.Xsession file? (If yes, check its content) - is /home/youruser/.xsession executable? Make sure it is by executing: chmod 700 /home/youruser/.xsession Then, make sure /home/youruser/.xsession contains at least: #!/bin/sh feh --bg-center $HOME/Downloads/wallpaper1.jpg exec yourwindowmanager (whatever your window manager is, twm, i3m, dwm, etc) >> On 3.
