Vega is indeed only relatively high end. Polaris starts with the cheap, low
power RX 550. Some older cards are supported too, but the newer ones are going
to be more efficient and easier to find possibly.

i386 is very sad, no developers really care about desktop on i386 anymore, so
it just "hopefully works". You don't have to wipe everything to switch to
amd64. Quite possibly you could even just run i386 userspace with an amd64
kernel!
