Finally I installed 12.3 and tested your patch on i915.

It resulted in lots of witness warning, but cherry-picking of
https://github.com/freebsd/drm-kmod/commit/b1530ea5ff4a81e1122e80f1b8c7ce6e31929215
fixed them.
