I have recompiled with this hack, and once again after latest src update - yet
to experience any problems since.

The artifacts mentioned in this bug are something distinct and new for me, I
have experienced various (other) artifacts over the years, though recently only
if I was forcing "sna" (see https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla
show_bug.cgi?id=249922).
