Maybe what could be done is to attach lldb/gdb from the virtual console to an
already running process before it crashes.

Or start a whole thing in a misc/screen session and simply re-attach it in the
virtual console.

(I am sure that are better ways to tell the debuggers to use some other devices
as the user interface though)
