I'm afraid it doesn't, in this case.  Helpers, by definition, allow one to
simplify things, write less, avoid boilerplate, don't repeat herself.  You're
replacing already short and simple command with longer, hard-to-read macro. 
There was nothing wrong with that line, and if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
