https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=277502 Frank Reisert <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #2 from Frank Reisert <[email protected]> --- Same here. Turns out: when executing startx as unprivileged user xorg starts as if root executed startx. Xorg then tries to access files in root's home directory: xauth: timeout in locking authority file /root/serverauth.##### would be printed on screen several times. Nevertheless a X sessions starts but ignoring formentioned unprivileged users xinitrc. Now when executing firefox it complains again about being unable to access files in root's home: (firefox:#####): GLib-GIO-Warning**: $timestamp: Failed to create /root/.config/glib-2.0/settings: Permission denied and firefox is not able to read a profile. I cannot pinpoint this behavior to a specific port. I can only say: whatever causes this was introduced with today's updates. But I'm quite confident this is why slim won't function properly. regards Frank -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
