It seems manu@ is having a crash with the patch applied on 5.15.  So while it
seems safe, we have to rule out some possible impacts in certain situations.

I'm afraid it is too late to have it merged in 14.2 anyway, so let's be sure we
are not regressing anything while fixing the problem.
