Ahh, although glxinfo -B still reports "Accelerated: yes" after VT switch, the
failed to authenticate magic 1
failed to load driver: iris
error aoccurs after 1st VT switch and xdriinfo(1) reports "zink" instead of
iris too.

So the issue is present here too!
Most likely the kmod-firmware relation I described above is nonsense - It was
just caused by VT switch.

While I'd bet this hasn't been a problem one month ago, when I commented (#39)
on the DRI 3 option effect
(https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=267915#c39), mesa version
hasn't changed meanwhile. So no clue if I just don't remember correctly, or
there are even more puzzle pieces affecting the VT switch issue.
Today:
pkg info -x mesa
mesa-demos-8.5.0
mesa-dri-24.1.7_4
mesa-libs-24.1.7_1

Looking at the ctime of my archived packages I'm quiet sure I had the same mesa
version (24.1.7_4) installed back then (corresponds to the graphics/mesa-dri
commit logs too).
