”Non-DEI” isn’t apolitical, especially in this climate. It’s just another political stance. Which is fine, but if someone, or some group/team, is not willing to respect pronouns, why should anyone expect that they’d be interested in accessibility, which some might consider a useful consideration in a user interface. 

And that leaves aside the sets of issues surrounding who may or may not feel safe working on a project, even if they have something useful to contribute. Sure, everyone wants to feel they’re sensible adults, but those are areas that sensible adults can have very strong disagreements about, and, pretty much by definition, non-DEI is not a policy of inclusivity.
