Yes, resources don't change.  The problem is (was) what drm queried internally
(and likely wasn't there by the current hypothesis).  You'll likely have to
start X to find out?  Ah or can you also check what the sysctl says for you if
that looks sane (see comment #c9)?

If this patch works, the next question (unrelated to this PR) but for the other
issue we encountered is whether re-applying
bbeeb585315645db20118ef349a4e3dc83b148cc now also works?
