https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=291598 Tomoaki AOKI <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #4 from Tomoaki AOKI <[email protected]> --- I don't like the flavorization idea for this. Why not using DEFAULT_VERSIONS way? I cannot understand. With DEFAULT_VERSIONS way, once freedesktop.org completely switches to Wayland and abandon X11, what we need would be simply switching default in Mk/bsd.default-versions.mk. And, although rejected by XLibre devs, I've proposed PoC patch at forums. https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/porting-x11libre-to-freebsd.98455/page-5#post-711350 Anyway, even if forcing flavorization way, the default SHALL be xorg at least for now. It would be better delaying to modify nvidia driver related ports until nvidia decides to officially support XLibre, regardless flavorizing or DEFAULD_VERSIONS way to be chosen. This is because there are binary-only proprietary part (even on open source versions still has binary only libraries / objects) that only nvidia can modify. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
