For many years my desktop systems have used:

    blanktime="1200"
    saver="green"

in /etc/rc.conf. I see now that this is broken, probably for some time.

I recently upgraded from 14.3-RELEASE to 14.4-RELEASE. The system is amd64 and
I'm using a quadro K420.

I just did a test, logged onto the console without X:

    vidcontrol -t 1

but the screen never blanks.

I seem to remember this happening a long time ago and it turned out to be due
to a regression in the nvidia driver...
