I am closing this bug because the maintainer (fernape@) explicitly disagreed
with the proposed change, stating that Bugzilla is the main issue tracker for
drm-kmod. No patch was ever submitted despite the "needs-patch" tag, and the
discussion stalled in October 2023 with no consensus. This is a policy
disagreement rather than a bug, and no actionable path forward exists.
