I'm closing this as manu confirmed this is expected behavior: once the DRM
driver is loaded, hardware brightness keys typically stop working. The proper
workaround is to use the backlight(1) command or configure devd, as arrowd
demonstrated for KDE Plasma. The reporter confirmed backlight +/- works. This
is a known DRM driver limitation, not a port bug.
