I am closing this bug because nvidia-driver-340 is an EOL legacy driver from
NVIDIA's 340.xx branch, which has not received updates in years. The debug
symbols staging issue is minor and the driver itself targets very old GPUs that
are increasingly unsupported. No patch was submitted, and linimon's triage
query in July 2025 received no response.
