I can now run the Linux version of nvidia-smi, on two 16-current installs.

Linux CUDA programs fail with:
% ./hello-world-cuda2 
CUDA error hello-world-cuda2.cu:21: OS call failed or operation not supported
on this OS

I have a better CUDA test program with error checking now.

One weird thing is that one of the two -current install hangs mount when
mounting the linuxprocfs - although both are today's -current head.
