patch-compiler_flags.mk attached to Bug 294878 fixes the titular issue. i didnt
notice a __FreeBSD_version/OSVERSION bump coinciding exactly with the split of
linuxkpi headers so i did a file existence check. 14.x and 15.0-RELEASE are
affected. 15-STABLE and 16-CURRENT are not affected
