No I haven't. I did try it some time back before I found the workaround to make
drm-510 live a little longer on releng 14.4 when compiled against /usr/src from
releng 14.3 (on a 14.4 install). Once I had the workaround I reinstalled and
went to releng 14.4.

I recall - vaguely - that performance was worse for xf86 and hardware accel not
there. 

I also briefly tried libva but to no avail.

Nothing of those are installed now.
