This also happens with intel kabylake on thinkpad t480. When using graphic
session, terminal emulator, browser. Run poudriere build and notice a GPU hand
crash after some ten seconds. This never happened in such a way before 6.12.
- please, do not consider this as rant -
I have seen drm project adding versions of dubious quality in the past. Some
versions are rock stable, some version are giving pain ( most of the time in my
case ). At which stage, which release, which criterion certain version ( say,
tag in drm-kmod repository ) are decided to be added? Why 6.12? Why not
drm-kmod-7 from linux-7?. I know it is a complex and not too easy work to port
the drm stack, I do not need explanation on that, no need "send patches", "lack
of resources" and similar vague replies. 6.12 is added and its very buggy on
various Intel hardware. Why there is no collaboration with OpenBSD, they have
much newer drm stack ? ( I have no idea about crashes, stability there, just a
fact it's newer ). It is very frustrating and off putting to jump from buggy
versions to buggy versions of drm-kmod.
