trying to set internet connection and run mplayer with FreeBSD/FreeSBIE

  
 Hi *,   I am more of a Linux dude who wants/needs to use FreeBSD for various servers and in a multiboot developer's box.   I use Linux/Debian/knoppix a whole lot, but I am having great difficulties trying to set up an internet connection using FreeSBIE:   I am trying to do it via "sysinstall" going though all the conf screens till I get to the "Network services Menu" and then select "Networking Configure additional network interfaces"   then I see my NIC displayed as: "x10 3COM 3c90x/3c90xB PCI ethernet card", click on OK and then get the following questions prompted:  "Do you want to try IPv6 configuration of the device?" [No]  "Do you want to try DHCP configuration of the interface?"  gateway. I have tried that both before and after running sysinstall and always as root.   Using Knoppix you could run "netcardconfig" to set up your internet connection access right away. I could imagine FreeSBIE uses something similar because the window used to actually enter the settings does not look like an ncurses-based one. What is the scrip used by FreeSBIE to just enter your internet connection setting at once (without going through all other settings)?  // __  also knoppix does not come with mplayer ready on the CD, so this was one of the first thing that I tried, but all I got was hassling while trying to run mplayer. "Seek failed"   // __ then I tried different files (with extensions ".ifo") to have mplayer crash with all kinds of errors   This DVD I have payed with knoppix (after installing mplayer on an external drive) and with Windows without any problems. I have noticed lots of people complaining about mplayer+FreeBSD.   I would literally love for the liveDC community (largely Debian-based knoppix nuts) to have also FreeBSD alternatives. I could go ahead and start my wish list headed by a livecd-started/internet based installation of FreeBSD a la Debian/debootstrap.   My personal opinion is that FreeSBIE has someway to go.
