Phhhhh! ok, shame on me- thanks Marco- I was in fact lacking that option (that __file__, to be exact) AND I was lacking a couple other options in the Kernel configuration....GEOM_UZIP, GEOM_LABEL, pfXXX etc. I had simply copied the GENERIC config from the ports collection and used that for making FreeSBIE. After spending another day trying to figure out what I did and what I should have done instead I realized there are in fact kernel configuration files FREESBIE in conf/i386. Oh, well- ...! I started another run now- am waiting for it to finish. Hope this is the solution. I would like to offer help with the documentation--- if this is wanted? Do you want me to add a couple of hints on the Wiki? Do you reckon it would be sensible to make "/usr/local/share/freesbie/conf/i386/FREESBIE" the default Kernel configuration location? I would be glad if I could work on some of those points. Let me know if this is of interest. Tilmann Dipl. Geol.
