I agree with you in some way, but I'm thinking about the (future?)
possibility of installing FreeSBIE onto the HDD. That way the first
time the user will upgrade FreeBSD with the usual way of
world+kernel+mergemaster, the latter will ask him to delete those
scripts. What are the caveats of putting them under
/usr/local/etc/rc.d?
