Web Systems Administrator, Full-Time Full Time Position - Immediate to March 2006 start ===================== DigitalWork, a web application development company based in downtown Chicago, is seeking a technically astute, down-to-earth individual with multi-platform server administration experience. We're a small shop where each team member has significant input and influence. We have a number of exciting projects going on, including our web community, zoomshare, currently home to over 300,000 individual web sites and growing. This is a very diverse role, and not your traditional Sys Admin position. You'll have an opportunity to contribute to in a variety of ways. Responsibilities include: ===================== -Server installation and configuration -Day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of UNIX (specifically FreeBSD) and Windows web and database servers including: - Uptime monitoring - Patch management - Backup management -Troubleshooting of server software and hardware issues -Close involvement in capacity planning and scaling projects -Assisting larger clients with integration projects (i.e. firewall configuration, web server configuration, SSL certificate installation) -Design and development of automation scripts as necessary -Other technical tasks based on your skill set as the need arises Skills required: ============ - UNIX Server Administration (FreeBSD a big plus) - Windows Server (2000/2003) administration - Apache Web Server Administration - IIS Web Server Administration - Perl and UNIX Shell Script development - Also, must have access to a car (for occasional trips to our co-location facility in the 'burbs) Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: =============================================== PostgreSQL, QMail, DNS, CVS, PHP, HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Microsoft .NET Technologies, VB, VPN/Firewall Administration ============================================= If interested, please e-mail your resume and salary requirements to: [email protected] This is a full-time, salaried position and includes Health/Dental/Paid Vacation & 401k benefits. -- __________________________________________ Paul Strauss President and CEO DigitalWork/DW Data, Inc. 661 W.
