mount_fusefs, fstab, user mount

I thought I'd try having users mount an NTFS partition using fstab.

root has no issues, users get this:

Circe$ mount_fusefs: /dev/fuse on /home/vlad/ntfs: Operation not 
permitted (FUSE daemon requires privileges due to 'allow_other' option)

The fstab entry looks like this:

/dev/nda0p3    /home/vlad/ntfs    fuse 
rw,noauto,allow_other,uid=1001,gid=1001,mountprog=/usr/local/bin/ntfs-3g 0 0

sysctl.conf:

# Uncomment this to prevent users from seeing information about 
processes that
# are being run under another UID.
#security.bsd.see_other_uids=0
vfs.usermount=1

I tried this (in both /etc and /usr/local/etc):

Circe$ cat /etc/fuse.conf
user_allow_other

I have no idea where to go next.
