That reply also helps with the scope for interpretation of your
"regular", thanks.

The ultimate answer to my note may well be: Not going to happen. I'm
mostly looking to have the overall choice be explicitly and publicly
indicated, whichever way it may be.

The one thing I know of that might have helped with such an effort is
that the likes of:

have various *.txz and MANIFIEST and revision.txt for armv7 stable/15 .
kernel, kernel-dbg, tests, base, and base-dbg are present. (There is
also a disk-test.img.zst .)

But it may be that logic producing such is of no use for the pkgbase
context.
