Both e-mail and Gmane are very simple and beautiful.  I can
guide you with getting them to work, if you are interested.

That's true.  Yet the only documentation needed start using
Gmane is there:

   It currently only allows access to the archive via NNTP on
   news.gmane.io.

I can help you set up any of the Usenet clients I have used:
Sylpheed, XNews, tin.  I can help you with Thunderbird as well,
but I'll need a /bit/ more time to do so.
