Networking and FreeDOS (OT?)

Does anyone know besides the Microsoft Networking client are there any
other options for doing NetBEUI over IP?  The microsoft client is pretty
fat with TCP/IP support enabled, and I'm hoping for something leaner out
there.

- Background
At work I'm trying to switch from Performance Technologies POWERLan to
using Linux and SAMBA since POWERLan has not been supported since 1998.
They did release it as unsupported freeware and so we've been able to
expand our network and use it till now.  The issue is the last client
they released was for NT 4 and we are going to Win2k.  We need something
compatible with our shop floor DOS clients, Win2K, Win9x and
Linux/SAMBA.

Any suggestions?

PS you can get POWERLan at ftp://ftp.perftech.com/PowZip/powlan.zip if
your curious, though I have not tried it out with FreeDOS so can't claim
compatibility.  It's a fine product that we've used with about 200
workstations since '92 it's a fine product for DOS, Win 3.x & 9x just a
tad long in the tooth.
