Actually, Win2K and XP can run on FAT32 ... actually the last batch of Win2K systems we bought from DELL were FAT32 instead of NTFS ... we had forgotten to tell then to use NTFS. It would not supprise me if home user systems this is the default for XP. The other thing is that there are read-only NTFS drivers for DOS, though I don't know if they work on FreeDOS. Paul
