which version of XCOPY? I know that the one in dosemu-freedos-bin.tgz is
an older version than the one in Beta8 (and the ripcord). The newer one is
completely rewritten by Rene Ableidinger

Interesting. That might get us somewhere, and maybe the Turbo C++ 3.0 IDE
problems are related (also a DPMI16 program). How about XMSDSK instead of
BitDisk?

Funny DOS extenders ... well at least it works without the funny DR EMM386
workaround -- see I always find it a little strange if you use utilities
from other DOSes, then you might just as well run DRDOS instead of
FreeDOS. But there would be no reason for FreeDOS if we were happy with
DRDOS and we're not (Caldera made one source release of "Open"DOS with an
extremely stupid license, and then made it closed again -- one good way
NOT too make friends among OSS and Free Software developers).
