just a small note

     * Kernel 2027test, please update to 2027 once available [was 2026a]

yes I hope to get the release candidate out this weekend.

     * Nasm 0.98.34 [was 0.98]

if you took the 16-bit DOS binary from nasm.sf.net, then this is very
unfortunate since this one is buggy; a Borland C++ 3.1 bug in -Ov
(strength reduction) optimization turned out to be the cause.

Now a 0.98.35 is available with this fixed. However it still isn't able
to assemble some parts of the FreeDOS kernel (that v0.98 did just fine).
I have a few small patches that fix that (and are now accepted by the
NASM people and in their CVS).

Just ask me if you want a binary with those fixes (jmp/call far label
fixed, in particular).

Also, to save conventional memory one would want to disable NASMs
ability to assemble WILLAMETTE, KATMAI, SSE, MMX, 3DNOW and UNDOC
instructions, and its ability to generate COFF, ELF, PE (win32), etc,
objects, leaving just OMF and BIN, since IMHO these capabilities are
just overhead for a 16-bit hosted DOS assembler. Unless a majority
disagrees with me of course.
