I was trying to free up conventional memory by using the devicehigh commands for the various device drivers in config.sys. But they don't load there, and on boot up the system reports" UMB not available". The system continues to boot, and the drivers end up in conventional memory. I have read the bug reports and the sample config.sys file. Also, I have just upgraded to the Beta8H1 version that was available as an iso image. So probably I am using the latest versions of these programs available. I understand that emm386 is incompatible with FDXMS. So is it just part and parcel with the use of FDXMS that one cannot access Upper Memory? Is there a way you could load into the extended memory perhaps(or perhaps that would be too "unDOSish")? Thanks, George
