Phar Lap's DOS Extender

I'm trying to run a cross-linker, and I get the following:

	This program requires Phar Lap's 286|DOS-Extender

Does anyone know if there's a way to get around this? I.e., a replacement or
something? I looked at the Phar Lap site, and they are NOT in the 19th
century (yes, 19th!). I tried to do a web search, and got all these hits
about an Australian horse named Phar Lap (Phoo-ey!)
