I've just built that package locally with the familiar result of 
unexpected differences (occurring in the 'sid' package) at offsets 0x50, 
0x70 and 0xff0 within a single page.

Thanks for giving it a try. It is disappointing, of course, but still 
helpful. I can now at least commit to a further attempt at reproducing 
this locally knowing that the problem certainly still occurs on 'latest'.
